Breakdown of Amniotic Sac
The amniotic sac is a fluid-filled membrane in which the embryo or fetus of amniotic terrestrial vertebrates develops. It is rich in hormones and biologically active substances that can be extracted and purified for use in numerous medical and pharmaceutical products. However, due to its physical properties, homogenization of this amniotic sac under normal conditions is extremely difficult.THE CHALLENGE OF HOMOGENIZATION
How can we ensure complete splitting of this amniotic sac?
The sample must be homogenized in a buffer solution. The sawtooth design of the rotor-stator shaft is recommended here, as the amniotic sac can be quite fibrous and requires an additional cutting effect for complete disruption of the amniotic sac. In combination with the high shear generated by the rotor-stator design, this enables a fast and complete disruption of the amniotic sac.
TEMPERATURE MONITORING DURING DISPERSION
The temperature of the medium must be monitored during the dispersion process as proteins are temperature sensitive and can be degraded if the medium temperature rises uncontrollably. With the safety temperature setting, a maximum temperature can be set which ensures that the dispersion device switches off automatically as soon as this maximum safety temperature is reached in order to prevent degradation of the sample.
EFFICIENCY OF THE DISPERSION
Complete dispersion can be achieved in less than 5 minutes. The amniotic sac can be completely broken.
