IKA is dedicated to sustainability, sharing its environmental information with EcoVadis and striving for continuous improvement. The company‘s innovative solutions enable the combination of substances in all states of matter into innovative products, with a commitment to increasing sustainability.
Since 2023, we have been certified by TÜV Süd according to DIN ISO 14001:2015. With this, we have established an environmental management system that allows us to continuously plan, implement, and monitor our environmental goals.
Look at the Green
IKA is ahead of the curve with the introduction of itsmodern, efficient and powerful chiller product line which uses natural refrigerant R 290. This natural refrigerant significantly increases the efficiency of the chiller and at the same time reducesthe global warming potential factor (GWP).Our Portfolio
Long product life
Long life cycles have been part of our philosophy, long before the initiative was coined ‘Life Cycle Thinking’. We ensure a long life and use of our products through high quality and long-term repair service.
Environmentally friendly product packaging
We protect our products using uncoated, pure cardboard. Where transport safety requires minimal amounts of plastics, we prioritize the use of biobased materials whenever possible.
Energy efficient operation
We have optimized motors and transformers to achieve efficiencylevels of up to 90%. This not only conserves electrical energyduring operation but also significantly extends the lifespan of thedrive systems.
Gentle operating fluids
Our innovations are designed to be easily maintainable and do not contain any toxic, environmentally or climate-damaging operating materials. When it comes to refrigeration compressors, we use the smallest possible amount of natural refrigerant with a low GWP (Global Warming Potential).
Conscious site development
Our headquarters in Staufen, Germany are powered entirely by green energy. Where feasible, we minimize transportation and travel distances, opting for CO2-efficient channels instead. Our employees have access to free job bikes, and they can enjoy a breath of fresh air in the eco-friendly bamboo garden nestled within the industrial area.
Engaged with heart
In addition to ecological responsibility, sustainable corporate development encompasses economic and social accountability. For instance, we are dedicated to supporting the IKA social aid project Hands for Children. In the context of this voluntary initiative, retired IKA employees assemble laboratory equipment free-of-charge, so that the proceeds can be used for children’s charity programs.
